    will an ls6 intake fit?

My brother and i are gonna be buying/installing a ls6 intake on his stock 98z.

i found a ls6 intake on ebay for $300, but i was told that it is off of a original z06 ls6, would that fit the ls1 or would i need to find a newer intake made to fit it?

    heres the intake...

If I am not mistaken the 1998 had EGR provisions on the manifold. 2001-2002 Camaro's had the EGR deleted from the factory. Even if the manifold you are looking at doesn't have EGR hook-ups there are ways to incorporate the newer version (blank off plates, etc.) to your car. I recommend reading the threads and research before deciding.

you will not have to mod the manifold. Just get rid of the egr crap and put on a egr block off plate.

Can you explain this a little more? Is the blockplate something that I can fabricate? Or something I should buy before i do the install this Saturday?

When you put on a LS6 with no provisions you need to get rid of your egr system. It goes from the header to the front of the manifold. You unbolt it from the header, block, and LS1 manifold. When you take the egr off the header there is an open tube that need to be covered up.

well you can probably fab it up yourself, but they are cheap and i would just buy one. Sponsors have them.
