    will 98/99 headers fit on 01/02 ls1??

    2001 z28 m6

i need new headers and have a chance to buy hooker LT that are slightly used with y-pipe for a great price. The only thing I am concerned about is the headers are for a 98/99 ls1 models. Will these fit my car or am I better off buying new ones made of 00/02? Will the EGR/air fittings causes issues?

When at hookers website I looked at both pics of both model headers, they looked exactly the same, exact the AIR tube was on the second down pipe on the drivers side header on the 00/02 and on the 98/99 it was on the first down pipe.

every brand header is year specified except QTPs, so this make me think they would fit.

    98/99 part number-HOK2253-1
    00/02 part number-HOK2254-1

here is what the seller said:

"Both are used less than 300 miles, and are in excellent condition, no damage. As far as the different years, the 98-99 headers have EGR/AIR fittings on them, where the 00-02 headers don't. You can run the 98-99 headers on a 00-02 car, just need blockoff plates (which are included). LMK, thanks,"

thats why i need headers I blew up my stock cats, the baffles flew right out my exhaust. So instead of replacing the cats, its time for new headers and ORY..

if they fit, why is there different models for 98/99 and 00/02?

for the egr and emmissions shit, but they are all same length and design different fittings for the years, check out pacesetters they have it for the 98-99 models and then for 00-02 models and then it has 98-02 models with no cats.

that seems like a lot of wasted material, they should just make headers for cats or w/o.

I know I am going with out and haveing the cat ses code deleted!
