It probably could be. There is a point where the intake track becomes a restriction however. For big HP applications generally the MAF is just removed all together.

It doesn't do the engine much good if you are trying to funnel all that HP through a straw (so to speak). With an inlet track of about 3 1/2 inches, the stock MAF size is rather small, (and it shrinks smaller than that inside the MAF) but it seems to work well enough for most street cars.
The 85mm Z06 MAF has a 4 inch throat on either end, and it seems a little pointless to me to install one if you aren't increasing the inlet size on either end of it. When I say that I mean an equally large throttle body and lid, as well as the duct work connecting it all together. Otherwise you have what I consider a bottle neck on either end.

I've lately become a bigger fan of just removing the MAF all together and going SD.

Considering the stock MAF can support nearly 500hp, why would you want the larger one?

If it has a screen its the truck maf. Same p/n as mine. Z06 maf does not have a screen.

yeah, mine has a screen still in it. Im pretty sure its the truck one, when i looked up stuff on GM websites, it kept showing mostly truck size engines as compatability. Thats with the P# i put in there.
