i have an ls6 ready to go on my car and when i took the ls1 off i looked inside both and what i saw was.......the ls1 manifold has sharp edges where the runners open on the inside this creates turbulence, compared to the ls6 all edges are rounded allowing the air to flow more freely and smoother and there is more plenum volume inside, two key improvements for the ls6, and yes the 01,02 cars with the ls6 had a smaller cam and still created more power than a 98-00, so put the ls6 with the bigger cam 98-00 and let the ponies run.

I installed my intake (LS) in my 2000 TransAm straight up with no problems at all. Runs great and one of the best mods yet!!! Oh, and no, I did NOT buy that coolant line at all. No grinding or anything! It fit my LS1 with no problems or leaks!

Your Lucky. Either you flattened the coolant lines or puty undo pressure on the intake.
First off, the intake gets torqued and isn't that strong.

Secondly, you are probably pinching the knock sensor wires.

Take it off and do it the right way!

Can you show a visual difference between them from the top? Just snap some pics, or advise where a p/n can be found. I am wondering if the intake on mine is still an LS6.
