This is why people say to avoid the LM and LT's

This is a discussion on This is why people say to avoid the LM and LT's within the External Engine forums, part of the LSx Technical Help Section category; I would say 10-20 RWHP depending on the duals and application....

PM mrr23 as he has that dual set-up. I am not sure if that goes all the way back.

Yes, I have the Bassani setup too. It runs mandrell bent 2.5" true duals from the stock cat location over the axle and out the stock locations. Mrr23 gained 20rwhp switching to Bassani true duals from his aftermarket catback using stock manifolds. That 20rwhp gain is worth about as much as headers, and it justified the extra cost over any other catback to me ($779).

I think these are his pics and gains from the Bassani: http://www.stealthram.com/bassanidualexhaust.htm

Here's a Bassani sound clip with stock cam, manifolds, and cats: http://s217.photobucket.com/albums/c...nt=Bassani.flv

You've probably been looking at the stainless setups http://www.lmperformance.com/5795/1.html , I went with aluminized http://www.lmperformance.com/5796/1.html . My WS6 never sees rain or snow and is garaged in a climate controlled garage, no need for stainless for me.

I don't know how anyone could like that first clip, I'd be embarrassed to drive it, sounded nasty and not in a good way.

Now the second is nuthin but sweet thunder...mean as hell and no rasp at all...IMO

Now the question is, what is the best way to get that sound with the aluminum block, would you go the same setup you have now Mr. Luos?

I know that the block material can change the tone and pitch of the exhaust, but I don't think it would change too much.
I would probably run the same thing. I like the Magnaflow.
