Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
This is why people say to avoid the LM and LT's
Listen to that rasp.
I ended up cutting off the loudmouth. Loved how it sounded before the longtubes, but afterwards....
Discuss.

Sounds LOUD (kind of like my SS Monte Carlo: LTs, 3"duals, and Flowmaster 2chambers)... Not too bad at idle, but at WOT - WOW. Great sound for a 'drive every now and then toy car', but gives me a headache after a while. I liked that sound about 10 years ago when I built the old SS, but I like it a bit more tame now. I like a nice deep tone without the rasp & drone.

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Here...for comparison purposes.
To me, the video clip above sounded like poop.
This is now...
Duals with Magnaflow mufflers.

That's MUCH better. Sounds lower in tone without the headache making raspiness.

Comparing Duals and a catback? That's not even close. This, of course, is all highly opinionated and leading nowhere. Now comparing catback to catback/TD's to TD's, that could get interesting. Oh and +1 for LM1 and LT's in my Opinion.

Custom Slate Blue- 99 B4C
I think it depends on the setup. Here's two videos of mine with headers and LM1. The first is stock other than the exhaust and doesn't sound bad, but the 2nd. . .well it's after the cam install and sounds like shit. It now has true duals over the axle with 2.5 inch flows and sounds better than both of these setups

Matter of opinions. I dig it, my next exhaust unless Mufflex decides to return emails for a change. Lousy customer service...

sorry but nothing sounds meaner and gets me more dirty looks than my LT's/ORY and SLP LM...
i have some true duals sitting on my floor w/sweet thunder resonators. if it doesnt sound like i hope it will, they will come off and be sold in a heartbeat and my SLP LM setup will go back on the SS...
nothing sounds better than this...

You can compare all types of system to one another, in my opinion. There all exhaust systems, and have particular sounds that differ from one another. Who's to say that because a system is of a different type than the other means that you can't compare it? That's ridiculous. And I actually prefer the taste of apples over oranges!

Heres another vote for loudmouth. I run the loudmouth II on my wifes Z28 and she drives it everyday to and from work. Now you mean to tell me a woman can deal with it and you guys can't???
We actually like raspy. It's all personal preference. This discussion can go on until everyone is blue in the face. Some like it and some don't, who cares. Do what you want with your own car, thats why you paid for it,,,right?
