Who likes/dislikes their pacesetter y pipe?

Mine is on the way along with some Lt's. I was just curious how many of you guys are dissapointed with its quality. I've heard that the ory doesn't allow for both collectors to flow evenly into the I pipe, which makes a raspy sound. I really don't want to have a raspy exhaust note. did any of you guys modify yours to flow better?

nah dude, i've heard some nasty f body's that don't rasp. Corvettes don't sound raspy.... probably due to the true dual exhaust. therefore its GM's ingenious y pipe that must cause it.

True, its the Y-pipe that causes the rasp. There are better Y-pipes that have a smoother transition from dual 3" to single 3". For example, check out this Flowmaster Y-pipe. This is an excellent design. It merges from dual 3" to a single 4" and then down to 3". It eliminates almost all rasp. But it is tough to eliminate 100% of it.

i love my whole pacesetter setup, its great.. i have the lt's the off road y pipe and then straight out the back, no cats, no mufflers, and everyone said id loose backpressure, thats bull shit.. i dynoed with that being my only mod and got 350 to tthe wheels , 360 torque and 390 to the crank,, it made it a lot faster too, with running a 12.6 in the 1/4. oh and by the way.. it sounds like im at talledega when i go by too, no rasp, sounds great. .now im just trying to get rid of those annoying header leaks...

rasp has alot to do with the muffler also.
after i put on pacestters and a orp, it was raspy with my magnaflow catback.
i switched to a hooker muffler, no more rasp.

my old camaro is not a true dual, but had lt's two 2.5 inch pipes back to a 2 in 2 out flowmaster muffler, it has a 383 with a descent cam, it rasps like cray in its power band and a little at idle, imo i hate the low deep deafining exhaust note you get from true dual dumped under the car, off topic i know sorry, i just love the way my old car sounds

Do you happen to have any sound clips? I wouldn't mind paying 100 bucks to get rid of rasp.
