QTP w/ Borla for about a year. No problems until the dumbass who replaced my fuel pump didn't disconnect the wiring before dropping the exhaust... ripped the motor right off the gear set.

Him: "No, that was broken when it got here."
Me: "Oh, I guess I just hadn't noticed the big electric motor dangling from my exhaust pipe until now..."

    Well with manual cut outs.....

Pros: Cheap to buy and have installed.. and of course give power. Cons: They suck dick to drive on the street and are to bitch to get on or off because they are hot as fuck

Electric cutouts: Same pros as above but minus the cons of the hawtnass. Cons for electric are The doors rattles non stop, hit or mis on good ones or not. Motors burn out and are expensive to replace for such a simple item. The doors don't seal worth a fuck half the time so if you like exhaust leaks then there ya go. Theres more But I'm tired

With true duals with an X you get Smooth power and don't have to listen to your change rattling around in your cup holder non-stop. From my butt dyno says more power... that has yet to be proven but the car feel ALOT stronger from about 4 and up. Duals look cooler, no fucking with anything.. nothing to wear out ect

Bottom line is cut outs are crude and there are better ways to do it ... once you go duals you don't go back

Had a QTP cut out right before the SLP LoudMouth resonator on the I pipe, which was replaced with Borla XR1 muffler. Had it for a good year untill my friend drove my car over a speed bump and ripped the motor right out. I always had a clearance issue with the QTP being on the I Pipe.

Then my friend bough me the Street Pro Cut-Out as a replacement and I love it...Much better clearance. Opens and closes with in 2 seconds compared to QTP which is about 6-7 sec. The only problem I have with the Street Pro Cut out is that it rattles when its closed. The pins need to be replaced which is probably will cost me $.50

anyways. I have the Street Pro for over year and a half and I LOVE IT.

is it really that hard to open and close them?? or is it that some people are to lazy?? to me i cant justify spending the money to buy electric cutouts when i could spend nothing and get my ass under the car and open it my self, LOL

I always thought the point of an electric cutout is that you can open it while you are driving.

Like you are quietly puttering around town and a ricer or mustang pulls up next to you and starts revving at you, then you flip the switch and start the roaring thunder that rattles their teeth. And also for when you wanna run someone quickly and you cant stop and pull over and crawl under the car first.

    No?

then leave it open if you like the sound and especially if you are out looking for someone to run you, then why not just leave them open, like i said i can not justify sopending that much money on a cutout.

Because 90% of the time I am driving the car I will want it to be quiet.

I've had a QTP for over a year now. I've had no troubles with it what so ever, and I use it every time I drive it.

I had a McCord powerplate for 1.5 years before some of the bolts vibrated out and I lost some of the gears when the motor separated from the plate. I gave it to a friend and he located the correct gears and he's been running it for another year. I now have a DMH plate and I've been using that for about 2 years with no problems. I love being able to cap the dump for the long hauls when I don't feel like listening to the resonance and want to listen to the radio. I run around with the dump open 95% of the time. It's just convenient to be able to close it when you see a cop approaching you from behind too.
