are you looking for power or sound? 3" to answer your question though. used to have a QTP on my car until i wanted to make more power than sound.

well over the next year or so im going to be making my z28 into a track monster. I plan on upgrading absolutely everything. There is no limit as to what im willing to spend, its only how much ive got in my pocket. So honestly I am looking for power, lots and lots. However sound is important to me as well but just not so much.

a cutout makes it really loud. and really annoying inside the car. almost deafening after awhile. i went froma 3" cutout with stock muffler to the bassani tru-duals and got better overall sound and way more power.
Now here's results of my exhaust endeavors. This is with 200 n2o. the stock vs cutout was same day.
distance --- stock --- cutout --- cutout colder --- Bassani
60ft ------- 1.987 ---- 2.074 ------- 2.020 ---------1.969

i was looking into these parts in about this order. ive already got the basics . pro 5.0 PT, tsp rumbler, 85mm lid ,k&n , and 85 mm maf.
THEN ill grab these
headers
ORY
cam & heads probabl going to spend about 2500 just for these
Manifold & TB (LSX Fast Manifold && 90mm tb?) another 1200 - 1300
Other small essential items will be included just listed the main stuff here and obviously suspension will also be thrown in there. After all what good is HP & torque if you cant get up and go when you want to.

at the moment ive got about 800 cash.. i was going to just slap on the cutout and when ive raked in enough cash get some Stainless Steel LT's and an ory all at once.
ALSO i got the tsp rumbler for 100.00 used (ebay) so i was thinking of switching out to stainless lt's and a TD from tsp or bassani..
Although to be honest the amount of options that there are for every aspect of ls1's and any car are staggering. Ive had other track cars (1989 iroc-z 350tpi 5spd) but i have never intended on doing such a large amount of work. Before i got what i could and was happy and now im always worrying about if i get this now am i going to be getting the same thing again in a few months because its not good enough.. aside from the tsp which i got real cheap im gonna focus on getting the best and only the best, nothing cheap.Last edited by WinSomeLoseNone; 01-27-2006 at 07:47 PM.
