What should my next mod be..?

So Ive talked to some local dyno shops and they suggest the FAST 92/92 setup and retune.. My mods are in my signature..I want more power without sacraficing my car or its drivability..so probably not sts kit or procharger in my future..oh and im a college student so I dont have the heaftiest pocketbook..let me hear your input..oh and I have pleanty of suspension mods to hold my car down..my rearend is stock though so that might be first to go pretty soon..thanks -clay-

I'd go for some different heads. Isn't the fast setup over 1.2k?

Nope, you could get a set of 243's for cheap (ls6, ls2, new trucks). Not sure how much of an upgrade it would be though. Would only cost 400$ or so. I really don't know what cheap heads to recommend for you on an ls1. if you had a 4" bore motor the easy choice would be l92's for about 600$

if you got a fast you would need a TB
The gains that would come from that would not be worth it for the price
Unless you found a used one cheap, the ls6 intake should suit you fine.

Your LS6 is plenty good even though you have a cam. Yes you will pick up power with the Fast but price is up there. Since you have a cam putting in some gears would be a good option to take advantage of that top end power. Also a exhuast cut out with the electric opener is not a bad mod either. Your going to get advice doing several different things but i love the fact i have gears and i could only imagine puttin in a cam and really taking advantage of it by being in my power band longer and getting there quicker. The exhuast cut out will give you a good amount of power as well, with the electric opener it will only get loud when you want it. Either way im sure someone else might have a better idea, GL.

I'm not really in love with the whole temporary gain thing, but the 1+k you could spend on a fast setup would go a looooong way with nitrous..

I have never seen a cam only hot-cam car make almost 400rwhp before. I have never seen one make even 380rwhp on the dyno I tune on.

"The cam specs on teh LS1 hot cam is .525" intake and exhaust lift with 219 degree intake duration and 228 degree exhaust duration @ .050". It was tuned by Jeff Creech in 2003 it has alot of timing on it."

Since you mentioned Creech, I posted a link above you might want to read about. I will second what Frost said, I highly doubt you are making 398 with a hot cam, 368 would be closer to accurate with that cam.

You dont think the MS4 is a little much for what he's asking?

You'd be surprised; with proper VE tuning the MS4 is usually more streetable than the ever popular trqr2. The G5-X3 on a 114 is another larger cam that is very very streetable with good tuning. Cams in the low 230s on 111-112LSA's believe it or not tend to have more negative street manners.

Not a big Jeff Creech fan because he had done a few local GTO's here in the Tidewater area and their owners weren't too happy with the tunes. One was so bad the guy went to HPP Tuners U myself and now does tunes for our Goat club. Find a local shop or have Frost knock one out for you after all of the latest mods are done.

^^^^^^^ Yeah I agree with the Creech comment. I used to live near Durham NC where Creech has his shop and have seen his phucked up work. I know of a guy in Greensboro who had a Creech tune and it was so lean his motor blew a couple months after Creech tuned it. A few here may get my reference but you are lucky he didn't wreck your car. Fastpoon is not on this site so it may not be common knowledge here. I wouldn't let that fatass near anything I have.

I hate to rain on your parade but Frost is right too that car should dyno in the 360-370 range.

Off my rant now but you may want to have your tune looked at to be safe and 4.11's would definitely be a cost effective way to wake you car up....
