What length o2 extensions?

    What length o2 extensions?

    I will be installing my QTP LT headers this weekend, and I need to know what length o2 extensions to get.. Will the 12" be enough or will I need to get the 24" ?

    I think you want 24's on both sides with the LS1 cars. The LT1 can get away with a 12 on the driver's side I think. I would plan on putting in new O2 sensors after you break in the headers too. When I did my headers, getting the O2's to come out ended up doing some damage to them. 1 stopped working completely, 1 had the heater go bad, another one worked but rattled really bad because something was loose inside. It's better to run the old O2's to break in the headers because stuff burns off the headers and could contaminate the O2's so leave the old ones in so you don't ruin new ones.

    12" for both are what you want. 24" will be too long.

    im installing Pacesetters will i be able to use 12"s as well and do you still need them if you tune out your rear o2's?

    The extensions are for the front 02s, yes you will need them and 12"s are what you want.

    Ok cool, I was lookin at em earlier and i was thinking that the 24" might be too long..

    I used some new bosch o2's from a 02 vette.the rear o2's have the right connection and have plenty of extra wire to make the connection.Plus they are a higher wattage.

    I had to extend mine by 10-12 inches, 24 would be overkill in my opinion.

    yeah i double checked with ws6store before i bought them and the guy said that they just recommend one 12" and one 24" .. i guess it can't hurt if i have a little slack on one side
