If you have a custom made y pipe that incorporate real cats and still has egr fittings any header will.

Anything that relocates the cats are illegal, so LT are not legal. Some have put on LT and a catted Y, and these will usually pass the sniffer test, but not a visual.

Shorty headers are legal, but they don't have much (~5-10 HP, maybe) over the stock manifolds, and I've heard that is only a gain on earlier LS1s, not an '02 like yours, so the cost isn't justified.

In reality, we can't really answer that. State & County laws determine what's legal and not. Start by asking the shop that does your inspections. They can tell you what will and won't pass local emission laws.

You also get into issues of, "What legally passes emissions, is not legal for street use." Local laws and what-not that prevent cutouts, glasspacs, etc... Again, talk to a local testing shop.

Ditto. I "pass" but the set up is not legal. What passes here would never fly in Cali. Depends on the testing in your area.
