Reguardless if Flowmaster robs you of a bit of power, I happen to think it sounds the best. I would rather give up a few HP and sound good than sound like a teenager who thinks loud obnoxious exhaust sounds cool and makes your car faster. A perfect example of that would be your typical Honda Civic owner with a "fart can" hanging out the back. Sounds like your going 100mph when in fact your only doing 10mph. NOT COOL!!

Sorry but flowmaster definately sounds worse on F-bodies than it does on Mustangs.

Enjoy it while your young son !
I remember my first car. A 1950 Ford 2dr custom deluxe sedan with a flathead six & three on the tree. It wasn't loud enough so I took a screw driver & hammer & punched holes in the muffler. Sounded a little better then . Then we added split duals with glass pacs & shortie lakes pipes . Never did sound as good as those V8's though .
Gettin the sound just right is VERY important !

The engine design causes the rasp. LT1 f bods use the same exhaust set up but have a completely different sound. Personally I like the sound of aggressively cammed F bods with long tubes, ory scream"n down the track.

    Aluminum block doesn't help.
Also the different LSx firing order (from your typical SBC) changes the pitch of the exhaust.

Dodge only rumbles if you get rid of the stock crap....my friend got a single magnaflow muffler custom catback exhaust on his 2006 R/T Charger and it sounds so nice. Stock it had like 4 mufflers.

Best sound for LS1 = LT's with dumped tru duals.
