Weiand's new intake manifold.
Weiand has a new intake. Quote fromStreet Thunder mag. Unlike some LS-series intakes, the one-piece Street Warrior intake offers significant low rpm airflow, which translates to low-end power. The Street Warrior utilizes all factory sensors and accepts a stock LS1/LS6 throttle body or a larger 90 mm unit.
Well, I called Weiand and talked to a guy about it, and all he said was that he had a brochure on it. The manifold is supposed to be released in March. He also said that @ 4250rpm it 36 more hp than an LS6, and @ 4500 it made 31 ft lbs more than the LS6 manifold. But he had no more info than that for now, not even a thought on price.
Sounds like a promising manifold if it isn't to pricey or to much hype. Will be interesting to see what it does in the 5000 to 6500 range.
Maybe we should hit Weiands inbox with e-mails to keep the price reasonable.

The guy I talked to, basicly read me the brochure, and that was all he knew. He said I'm in sales not research. I sure hope they let more info out.

from what I have read it will produce a little more low end than a fast 90 and run out of steam a little earlier too due to a longer runner. Obviously I don't know for sure. Time will eventuallly tell. Sounds stronger than an ls6 anyway.

I need an intake. I can't wait for this to come out and get some real world testing and comparison.

I read in another site the manifold is supposed to be sold at $650.00 and will come in a factory looking black finish as well as be offered in a chrome version.

I actually ran across this today. and for a split second almost posted as to why noone was running it, then got sidetracked. Thanks for the heads up that its not out yet Crash. Once its out, this intake wouldn't be too much on an LS1 (assuming it has heads/cam/etc..) would it?
