    Volant Install Question

I just got a volant that was used got them to fax me directions.

Would it benefit me to remove the plastic that caught the air for my previous lid? seems like air would flow better over the AC condenser and have more room to get into the engine bay. Is there anything it would hurt?

    2. Should i remove the little thing behind the top nostrils of the ram air hood?

    Thanks for the help!

...? Plastic that caught the air form previous lid...Don't quite understand? The entire "lid" assembly must be removed to install the volant system. It bolts in place of the stock lid, baffles, and tray that the lid sat on.

Removing the plastic in the nostrils helps smooth out airflow I'm sure, but I don't know about proven power gains? I have it done on mine, but people get all worried about rain getting in there. I've driven in HARD rain, with the volant cai, and no air deflectors and not even had a speck of rain in there.

I love my volant, and here are some pics to help...

I am speaking of the cover that brought the air up from under the car ( in front of the AC condensor and radiator.

you dont need to touch that, the volant will get its air from the scoops that is the benefit, it is a true ram air setup. it is supposed to have a rubber seal on the top of the intake box to help seal it to the scoop inlet box.

I understand how the volant gets it's air. I'm just asking if by removing those plastic shrouds it would allow better air flow to the radiator and engine compartment.

Are you talking about the air dam? I would not remove that because you're car could overheat.
