    Update -- Problems w/coated Pacesetters

    Update to my original thread..

Cliff notes: New pacesetter header rubbed a hole in my oil filter. Pacesetter wouldn't own up and blamed everything from motor mounts to the oil pump. After testing my header in their jig and finding "nothing wrong" with it, they send me a new one.

    Old header:

    New header w/old oil filter:

    You be the judge.

you got some really good pics there that show the differnance in the old set vs the new ones, send them to cutomer service and who ever else you find and call BS on your situation. Good to see that it all worked out for ya though.

NO complaints on mine.. great price... fast shipping.. SUPER easy install... great numbers and sound. I'd recommend them to my Grandma... if she were still alive..... and knew what headers were... lol.

I saw the combo for around $550 for the headers + y-pipe. Since I have not installed any other kinds.. I can't rate them against eachother... but there arr guys in the area that have installed others.. and they said that PS have been the easiest.

I saw your original post and I'm glad you got everything taken care of. As far as sending new pics back to them. I might but would probably just let it go since everything is ok now. This is the first time I've read of someone having this problem and if there was truly nothing wrong with the first header they wouldn't have sent you a different one. The bottom line is it's clearing the filter now so your problems are over.

I've installed Hookers, SLP and Pacesetters and Pacesetters were the easiest... 2nd would be Hookers.

I would recommend them. Mine have been flawless and other than this story I can't remember reading any other bad experiences with pacesetters. They're a good header for the money.

You get what you pay for... That's about all I can say. This is the 3rd or 4th set I've installed on a fbody and first time I've had a problem.
