it frees hp by running the accessories using less hp. frees parasitic power.
also increases the mpg like 2mpg or so. a good 10hp gain.

The crank pulley. You will need a 3-jaw puller, new belts and a big torque wrech...or is it a degree wrench? The number 270 sticks in my head, but I can't remember if it was ft/lbs or degrees... Anyways, I've had an ASP pulley on my car since 2001 with no issues...good mod IMO.

i heard that after installing underdrive pullies, that you lose a little bit of torque but gain a little bit of HP, is this correct, or was someone just blowing smoke up my rear?

replaces the old pulley, so by having a new one which is a bigger pulley, lesser belt and less work has to be done to power the accessories. hence a few hp released.

which pulley is better? (ive only heard of 2) The ASP, or the SLP? I have a stock radio and am not going to upgrade it. The SLP is a few $ more, but also has harmonic balance as well as extra high walls i think. do i have to move anything out of the way of the pulley before the swap? i was going to get a tune before the pulley, should i do the pulley before or does it matter? thanks alot!

prevents vibrations and frequencies that can lead to block/crank value.

i think im going to get the SLP mainly becuz of the harmonic balancing. At this time its on sale and $25 cheaper (SLP??? go figure) and i can pick it up since i live in NJ. its also got higher walls. anyone have experiences with either ASP or SLP?

not to throw down ASP I'm sure its a good underdrive pulley but from what he says the slp one sounds like the better buy. My question to you is does the ASP pulley have the harmonic balancer on it too or do you have to install that seperately somehow?

i called CARTEK and they recommended the ASP so i ordered it, and a stock crank bolt, but is it good enough for the new pulley, will they cause problems?

yep I deal with a pro shop, LG Motorsports and they put in ASP and a new GM bolt in there.
