TSP drivers side header!
Hi all,
how did you get you drivers side LT in? the passenger side fell in.
Did you go thru the top or bottom?
I have the steering linkage, motor mount and alternator out..
please help!

did you take the motor mount pedestal too???..........thats the only way mine would go in

mine would do nothing till the mount and pedestal were out.....and that damm sharp exhaust sheild on the firewall.........slipped right it after that.......no firewall banging....no k member grinding

30 seconds with a grinder is a lot easier than removing all that stuff. Not sure the difference between TSP and Kooks though.

just did paceseter a few weeks ago we had to pull the alternat0r it could be getn caught on ur k member might have t0 n0tch it a lil t0 get it past.that sh0uld give u en0ugh. ur luckey my pasnger side 0r driver side went n right . you can call matt at texas speed he can throw some tatics ur way.

maybe jack up the engine a smidgen??? mine was up a little to remove the pedestal....and make sure your plugs are out......mine got hung up on the plugs...both sides

Dude you shouldn't have had to pull put the alternator. Just remove the 4 bolts to the motor mounts connected to the k member and lift the motor. If you get it high enough with the right angle, it will slide right in.
I did the tsp lt's last week.
And i left the coil packs, only reason you remove isto be easier on your hands for the header bolts and plugs.

had to pull the ALT to get at that 18mm bolt on the motor mount.......but it was all good

what is it hitting?......do you have the car jacked up high enough?......it goes in almost straight up

loosen the tranny mount and jack up the tranny.

I would bet your car isn't high enough. I've never had to take anything out when doing headers. There's a casting plug on the side of the block ( little square chunk of aluminum) that you might have to grind or cut a little off of but after that it should slide right in and I'm betting you don't even have to do that with the TSP headers. They have to go in damn near straight from the bottom then rotate into place.

^^ That aluminum block on the side of the engine was a pain in the ass. I couldn't bring myself to grind on the engine, that's why I clearanced the K-member. You had to at least remove the oil filter, didn't you?
