Truck coil install in pics
got the truck coils off ebay.....110$....and knew they were not a exact fit.......but it turned out to be a real PITA......but a worthwhile PITA........lots of trial and error to make them fit.....the drivers side hit the evap and fuel line......raise the evap up in its bracket and cut the bracket on fuel line and bent it up......the pass side the main harness needs to come out of the clamp by the a/c box......and that last bolt on pass side was a PITA to get to.....only managed hand tight since the brackets are only held on by 2 bolts now.....the SOTP dyno says I have more power....I did have a slight shake at idle that could barely be felt but showed in the outside mirrors......the idle has really smooothed out now so no more shake in the mirrors as well its as revs alot more readliy......ITS a must have mod in my book.......wish some one would come out with some plug and play brackets for these coils......my 1st thought was to mod the stock 1s.....but after i took them off and looked at them that became a no go.....if i had a welder it might be a different story.........the fact that these coils are angled makes them hit everything you can imagine when trying to make them fit

I use 1/2 bar stock to lower the brackets down about 2 inches.....I could have used some more lowering but the wiring harness was the limiting factorLast edited by sjsingle1; 07-20-2010 at 12:27 AM.
