    timing chain

    Now I'm doing h/c/I and looking for timing sets,I heard an ls2 will work but don't know anything about that,I was looking at a adj.ls1 timing chain,or should I just buy a new oem timing set,I'm confused about this,lemme kno what you all think I should do.

    When I did my H/C/I Swap, I went with a double timing chain and love it. Obviously, it came with new gears to accommodate the two chains. Others swear upon the Katech C5R Chain. It uses the stock gears since it's a single chain. If I was to do it over again, I would use the Katech Chain, since you won't have to remove the gear from the crankshaft (which is a bitch).

    Also, this belongs in the Internal Engine Section.

    I would never go "budget" on something as important as a timing chain. You snap a timing chain and bye bye motor.

    I used a Trick flow double roller w/2 deg adjustments..As for the Crk shaft gear ..A 3 jaw puller works great w/ the crk bolt in all the way..so not damage the crk when pulling...U can rent them from an auto store.
