I have the LM1 on my 98' and love it. It sounds great as is (with stock manifolds and cats).

this is also filmed in a parking garage, and compared to the slp lm1 its pretty quiet.

I have the SLP lm1 (3.5" single tips) with Edelbrock headers and I have passed both times easily. As for loudness I easily set off car alarms at my works parking garage. My neighbors tell me that they can hear me everytime I start my car. Even nieghbors that live a few blocks away. I originally wanted a Borla exhaust or Corsa but they cost too much for me...I haven't had problems with cops. Just don't rev to high in your neighborhood especially at odd hours. I have a few neighbors that have Harleys and those are louder.

Actually if you want loud but not as loud as a LM1 look at Texas Speed they make a system almost like SLP but use a Dynomax race muffles. My buddy had these on his Formula and it was loud. Not quiet as raspy as a LM1 if you delete your cats also.

I would look into a spintech super pro street muffler. they have way less rasp, and have all the same volume. deep rumble, and SHOUTS at high rpm's

the next car I buy might get a spintech muffler. I havent decided yet. I was considering doin a magnaflow so I could daily drive it, and have a cutout when I wanna be bad

I love my spintech. IMO, its perfect.

But everyone thinks there own exhaust note is 'perfect'

Why do you want an SLP? Persoanlly, the LM1 sounds decnt when its all by itself. You add headers and y pipe to it, it sounds like shit. RASPy to all hell. LM2 is just a slightly less raspy LM1 IMO. There are better systems out there if you ask me (and others), but if I was to be forced to choose, I guess LM2

Dont worry about cops, respect them they wont hassle ya, I run dual e-cutouts off kooks 1 7/8 headers and had a Hi-Po compliment the sound.... yet i can close them and i left the stock cat back and its nice and quiet for hiway drivin...

If you want the loudest catback go SLP LMI, if you plan on headers and ORY LMI gets really raspy so most will go with LMII or a Borlamouth
