Throttle Body Question ?
I was Looking at maybe buying a new throttle body for my car and was wondering if the 85mm BBK TB , will it fit with an SLP bellow or should I go for the 80mm .
I later plan on swiching to an LS6 Intake & don`t plan on doing anything crazy with my car other than bolt ons .
Thanks .1999 T/A FIREHAWK - SLP Lid & Bellow,LT`s & Catted Y & Power-Flo Catback , MSD & NGK , UMI 3P SFC,ADJ PHB,STB,LCA`s & Relos , Eibach Pro Kit , Bilstine/SLP Shocks , MAC Diff Cover , BFG & OE Wheels C5DD 18x9.5/10.5 , HID 8000K Headlights - Dyno`d @ 319.07 HP & 327.23 Ft-lb ( Tuned by Champ Motors )

Yes don't waste your money on a 80. Just have your stock one ported or go find a core stock TB and have it ported.
If your gonna upgrade get a 90 +

OK , so now I guess I have two options :
I Can have my stock TB Ported or
I will save up some more money and buy an 90mm
So if I do wait an buy the 90mm will it work with an LS6 intake ? & will it fit with my SLP intake bellow ?
Thanks Again .Last edited by 99CANADAHAWK; 01-10-2009 at 05:17 AM.

thats affirmitive... 90/92 and I thought I heard something about a 100mm tb... its not as easy as buying a 300$ 4 bolt tb you need to spend 1000$ for a FAST intake to marry it to

The best explaning I can give is removing metal in the throttle body and making it smooth to flow more air.
Here is the example. When someone has asthma their airways restrict and make it hard to breath, porting is kinda like an inhaler, it makes the airways open up and more air to flow in.

So would it be beneficial to port a larger throttle body (85 or 90) compared to porting the stock? I'm not sure if there is a point of diminishing returns.
