    Throttle Body Porting?

Where is the best place to get my throttle body ported. I'm looking for a shop that will port and polish the inside air flow areas as well as the blade. Also smooth down the shaft and grind down the bump-stop. Anybody out there got one that looks like this???

do it yourself. Installuniversity.com should show you how. All that you need is sandpaper. Some polish, and maybe a dremmel to make things go faster

All sound easy and all, but you can actually hurt some of the performance if you dont do it properly. Overboring T/B HAS to be perfectly cylindrical for the end result! This can/might disrupt your flow and hurt your performance!! Double check all dimensions with caliper to make sure your perfectly round on all side of the T/B!!! I hear this all the time from our local tuner and recommends replacement/up grade! Leave it for the PRO's who know!! Pay the little money and enjoy the extra power!

extra power? Not trying to be a d*** but c'mon its just a ported throttle body. you are not going to see some lifechanging amount of horsepower, maybe 1-2 rwhp at best. If you honestly think you get 5-7 RWhp out of a ported TB, I'd like to see the dyno sheet before/after. not paying $75+ for something I am fully capable of doing myself.

Understand!! But when you ever need to get a custom tune, it WILL create problems, just like the aftermarket MAFS. will!!!! Besides, YOUR port will yield 1-2 horsepower. A REAL port will double maybe triple depending on tune/mods! Many mods. can be done to the T/B to improve port velocity. Anyone can bore-out there own and call it good! Just dont want to give the wrong message to anyone thinking they can do it, then expect some gains without screwing something up! Most of the work done to T/B are circumstancial. Not saying dont do it directly, just saying do some homework on porting/polishing, and measure-out your bore and capitalize on areas that will justify your single most important element for power on a T/B.......VELOCITY: which in fact, by porting it, WILL slow down the air in effect!!

I personnally went to a Professional Products 85mm T/B! Love it!! Some porting/polishing done to it going to intake, but just to smooth out flow!
