    throttle body issues

I have a 1999 Trans Am WS6, pruchases a TPI throttle body from somebody on here, when I installed in, the leaf on the side of the TPI was bigger than my stocker, and because of this the throttle cable isn't long enough, what do i do? IS there any way I Can adjust it or do I need to buy a new cable?

you should replace your throttle body with a regular one from either the dealer or go to ebay and get a stock replacement .I would not recomend using something that doesnt fit right from the begginning .A throttle body is not that expensive and a stock could flow perfect even on a 500 horsepower motor.

I Just did some research and from what Ive read the 00 and newer tb's use a larger TB cable attachment while the 98-99's had a smaller one. I think your best bet is to swap your stock one on to the ported TB and you should be good to go.

I haven't been able to call because I live away going to school and we've had a mix up at our apartment wit the cable/phone company so I have no phone. And no cable came with my TB, I put the ported TB on my car and the cable just isn't big enough.

I think you may have misunderstood me lol .On the part where the cable attaches to the TB from 98-99 it was a smaller radius from what I was reading on the web the other day, which means the 98-99 cars have a shorter cable. From 00-02 they used a different peice that i was not aware of and is a bigger radius. So what i was saying you should do is remove the throttle cable connector off your old TB and swap it on to the new TB I sent you and that should solve your problem.

Im pretty sure, worst case just talk to tpis and they might be willing to swap your TB out with one of theirs for a 98-99. Sorry about this had I known previously this was going to be an issue I would have stated that in the sale.

Email me when you get a chance after you try to change the connectors out. I'll talk to TPIS next week as I am swampped at work this week.

Remove the throttle blade. Revove the TPS and the little retainer ring on the throttle shaft that is covered by the TPS. Tap the throttle shaft out. Swap over. Reinstall the retainer, blade, and TPS. It will make sense when you do it.
