That was a baseline before they started modding it. I believe GM rates this crate motor at something like 340 or 350ish HP? Not too shabby, of course this was no accessories, and a true dual exhaust system rigged for the engine dyno,,but thats pretty typical on an engine dyno. These LS1's make alot more power than GM rates them at. With that kind of flywheel HP it's no surprise why so many of these cars make over 300 hp to the rear wheels bone stock. Larry.
Yep. And that flat-ass torque curve doesn't hurt anything either!

WOW!! what r the specs on the cam? And do you have all the supporting mods?? Not calling BS but that seems low for a cam'd LS1.

my numbers are typical of the 224/224 581/ 581 114 lsa comp cam grind.

mods, 224 cam, LTs, catless y pipe, volant cai, ls6 intake, hooker exhaust , tuning and 3000 stall.
you guys gotta remeber that a stall eats up some h.p.
auto trans dont help either for h.p numbers.

They also listed the part numbers and price.
getting 500 at the flywheel isnt hard you have to remember.
im not even a full bolt on car with a cam and stock heads, and im making over 400 at the flywheel. actually my set up is tame.

370 RWHP is equal to 462 crank HP using the standard 20% drivetrain loss---
    A M6 only has 12% drivetrain loss---so 462-12% = 406 RWHP with 6 speed

Not outlandish at all--automatics kill RWHP--no way around it.But 400 RWHP very easy to accomplish with a M6--your engine would do it easily --just as it sits with the M6.

Didn't you see he is running a Vigilante 3500 stall? That low hp # doesn't mean squat. However when he kicks that bitch alive you don't want to be beside him. Vigs are nortorious for eating up hp on a dyno and for kickin M6s ass at the track.

LOL,,,I never was into the chest pounding dyno number crap. What really counts is how fast is it at the track. Thats what separates the men from the boys. Larry.

it makes no sense. first they say they gained 400hp from no power adder and no heads/cam, then they go on to tell about the cam and head specs??

pretty suspect at best, but ive been wrong before...

As for my numbers....I dont think their low....Had the best tune out there man....As for my ls1 intake.....that limits me a bit and having the big stall but I dont think my numbers are that low at all

i know you werent talking about me.
not having an ls6 intake explains the lower number for your cam.
do you have pulleys and ported t/b?

that explains why you have 370 rwhp.
ive seen stalled autos that were full bolt on hit 400 with your cam.

375rwhp is the most I've seen on a bolt on car(no heads or cam). The only things he does't have is an underdrive pulley and fast intake/tb maybe that would put him to the 400rwhp.
