    Texas Speed ORY

I just got my Texas Speed ORY and it is in several different peices no problem there as I am sure it will make lining everything up when installing much easier, my question is should I just use the u-bolt type clamps that came with it get some band clamps or just weld it after I get it where I want it? Any ideas?

I prefer the band clamps myself. When it comes time to pull the tranny for anything at all, it makes life much easier when the pipes simply slide apart.
The u-bolt clamps will crush the pipes and make them a pain to remove without cutting.

I generally weld most of the system and leave either slip joints or bolted flange joints in the critical areas that will need to come apart later down the road. This minimizes the band clamps and/or flanges needed for a much cleaner appearance and saves a little money too.

On the 4th gens I prefer a flange joint where the Y attaches to the catback system. A slip joint here makes things a pain as you generally have to loosen the cat back for extra movement to slide things apart. A flange joint eliminates this hassle and saves time.
The rest of the Y-pipe I use slip joints and band clamps for a little extra ground clearance and weld what doesn't need to come apart.

With a flange joint at the cat back connection you can remove the Y-pipe as an entire unit.

I have the TSP ORY. Mine is welded together, and I removed the tranny without too many problems with it welded together. If you choose not to weld it though, definitely band clamp it versus the u-bolt clamps.

I would venture to say 3 inch. Thats what I used on the aftermarket Y's that are made for 3 inch header collectors and 3 inch catbacks.

i used the u bolts and band clamps were the headers meet the ory and the cat back meet the ory and welded the rest. that way if i need to take it off i can just remove the whole ory as one unit.
