    TD's Vs. Catback

Ok guys so i already got my lt pacesetter headers. but i REALLY want the texas speed true duals..or just true duals for that matter. but money became an issue unfortuantely...is there any catback that even compares to true duals or should i just wait it out and save up for the duals?

If true duals is what you want then there wont be anything close. Save up the cash and get what you want.
Check out ls1sounds.com for some sound clips, may find something ya like.

i agree with Sunsetoranges, if duals are are what you want, id wait. for the same price as a cat back or cheaper, you should be able to get a local shop to custom bend an exhaust for you.

true duals will be overkill with standard mods/bolt ons. . however they will give you a different sound, less rasp, etc. like said before. . get the exhaust you really want.

Over kill? I dont see why? TD sound great. If you have your mind on TD's, then save alittle bit and get them. If you get a shop to fab up a system make sure they are Mandral bend's in the system.

overkill because an aftermarket catback (especially with lt headers) has plenty of flow for an ls1 with less then 400 hp. . . now if you talkin about sound, performance has nothin to do with it. the td's will give you a different sound than the raspy y pipe setup.

TD's will perform better than a cat-back no matter what.

true. . . but from what ive heard, its a very minute gain unless you have all bolt-ons, heads, cam, forced induction, etc. however, i would like to see concrete numbers to prove this.

correct, until you start seing the 450+ numbers, the gain will be minimal, the difference will be the sound obviously, the TD's will have a completely different sound to them

This has already been gone over many, many times. Even a V6 will shows a good gain when converted to a dual. How do I know? Well exhaust is what I do.

Do a search in this section and you will find it.

How do you figure? Obviously we have different opinions of good and hardly noticeable but thats beside the point...

on a stock car i will be suprised as hell to see any gains over 8 to 10 by switching to a true dual on a stock car...

I agree although a good set of headers and an X pipe may change that considerably.
Heres some good info for those looking at Catback vs Duals
Pay close attention to the 3.5" and 4" Singles vs the 2.25 and 2.5" Duals

gains are minimal with bolt-ons I have duals the sound is good power difference is minimal. You would be better off just buying the mufflers and have a shop do a custom job, go on ls1tech and shop there whole sytems can be had for under 300, just shipping required. One Man has duals with borla xr-1's which is pretty hard to beat.

    Completely incorrect.

    Here you go:

What options are out there for true duals?

theres other tests out there on the "other site" that show true duals dont always make that much more power.
if a person wants to ring out every last h.p possible, then duals are the way to go.
if you look at true duals that go out threw the back that are mandrel bent, the h.p to dollar ratio isnt worth it in alot of peoples books.
