    tapping holes for cable bracketo

I have a new intake on my car and it didn't come with holes for the cable bracket. Would it be possible to tap holes into it so I can bolt up my cable bracket? Or is there a better option for securing the bracket? I will post pictures up soon.

If you do drill the holes you will need to epoxy in some thread inserts.

I can't see there being a problem doing it as long as the factory/manufacturer made the same model with the bracket.

You want to make sure there is enough material that you don't weaken it.

Maybe phone the intake manufacturer and see if they have a kit to do the conversion.

They make one with the holes and mine was suppose to come with it but it didn't, but I didn't realize it until it was already on the car. Right now I have the cable zip tied to the fuel rail so it doesn't move around. I should be good until I figure out how I am going to do the bracket, right? As in I shouldn't lose any throttle response? Also does anyone know where I can get some threads to epoxy in the hole and how big I need to make the hole and what thread size are the bolts on the cable bracket?

Also on a side note should my aftermarket TB have a hole in it like the stock one? It doesn't that is why I am wondering.

Here is the picture, it looks like I would have enough extra material to tap it.

Is that intake aluminum? its looks metallic in the pic.

Be careful if you drive it, you don't want that throttle sticking open.

It's aluminum. What I meant by the cable doesn't move was the actual cable will still move but the black plastic doesn't move around so it won't pop off the TB blade

Seeing that its aluminum all you need to do is get a 1/4" helicoil kit and usthe drill bit,tap the hole and put in your helicoil thread using some red thread locker.

Then install the bracket you fab up

Awesome I'll try that thanks! Where can I get helicoil? I checked home depot and couldn't find it.
