SS Silverado intake better than LQ9 intake?

I've got a Lq9 6.0 Silverado under 9 lbs of boost right now. Would a SS silverado intake pickup any HP? Are they any different than my stock LQ9 intake?

lq9 manifold is ugly piece that is designed for low end torque production, and wont even flow as good as an ls1 manifold at higher rpm. your best bet would be to slap on an aftermarket intake, however, unless you plan on adding more boost/fuel, a freer flowing intake wont do much for your boosted application. "aft the boost maker" is far less important than "pre boost maker". . . .

Well, from the sounds of it, the after market intakes are not reliable with boost. I'm definetely not running out of room on the top end. It whips to 6800 RPM very quickly.

So, does anyone know if the SS silverado intake is different than the LQ9 intake?

any aluminum intake should be ok w/ boost. although i'm generally not a fan of bbk products, their manifold is an excellent flowing piece, and is "cheap" relative to the others.

because the silverado SS makes a whole bunch more HP from the factory than my 3/4 ton silverado 6.0L does.

anywho, if anyone knows anything about the Silverado SS intake, feel free to post their input!!

"normal" 6 liter trucks had LQ4 which has exact same specs as the LQ9 intake. LQ9 manifold is used on your truck.

    ... ....................................LS1........... ...............LQ9.................LS6
    plenum volume ...................5.06L........................4L ..................5,19L
    Runner length....................262 mm....................263mm............262 mm
    runner volume.....................(.)56 L.....................(.)513L............(.)541L

now, we all know the LS6 manifold outflows/supports more power than the LS1 manifold. so, if the trend in those numbers is consistent with power gains, then the LQ9 manifold is an inferior piece. whether or not it is worth swapping on your forced induction is your choice.

    this better?

LQ9's are installed in Yukon Denali's, Escalade's and Silverado SS's
they are rated at 345 HP but use the same intake as the LQ4's like stated above.
