Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
Are you still on stock manifolds or do you have long tube headers? If you are still on stock manifolds it can be a PIA. If you have long tubes and don't have EGR or AIR pump components in the way, its not bad except for cylinder 8. It will be a lot easier with the proper tools as well, especially a plug socket. Be sure to use anti-seize on the plugs as well.

You can do it, only #8 is a pita - and that one from the top too with a little patience.

I've found that this is the best thing to get that one.....plus I remove the coils on the passenger side........that way I can get them all from the top...

From the Bottom
From the bottom worked best for me. I would rather fight it from there on my back than hanging over the fender and moving piping and coil pack out of the way. I used a slightly deeper than normal 5/8" socket to break free and switched over to a regular plug removal socket (with insert) to remove the rest of the way. The angle of the plug on installation makes it hard from the top and easier from the bottom. Don't be shy about unpluging wiring harnesses to make it easier on yourself. Take your time...its not that bad.

Changing plugs on my LS1 was a three hour job because the plug wire boots were glued to the old plugs. It took an hour to get them one by one off the plugs. I damaged one plug wire in the process. I look at this project with pleasure after the 10 hours it took to replace the plugs in my LT1 one week earlier.
On the LS1, the a.i.r tubes need to come off and the coil racks need to come up. The rear most bolt holding the passenger side coil rack was the hardest to get to and that bolt (stud) didn't go back in for reassembly. The use of a 1/4" ratchet with extension on the rear most coil bracket studs makes an impossible job reasonable.
I think I may have gotten under the car a few times to either break one or more plugs loose or finish the removal / installation. Most of the work was from the top side.
The very best investment you can make if you do this yourself is to get those swivel end extensions for your ratchet and socket. You will only use a very short extension if you use one at all but that 5 or 10 degrees of lateral motion makes all the difference. On a scale of 1 to 10 for difficulty, I rate the plug change at 5.

01Z28M6 has pretty much nailed it in my opinion. I was not implying to work all the plugs from the bottom but certainly #8 in my case. I removed all the coil pack bolts on the passenger side and just loosen the rear. That allowed me to swing-up (and out of the way) the assembly far enough and items 01Z28M6 mentioned. Really not that bad but time consuming. The air tube gave me a fit as it is not at all easy to re-install (access the bolts). The latter has to be done from the top and a PITA.

Right. Save your money and buy NGK TR55s. No one seems to find fault with them. If you need a colder plug go with the NGK TR6 or Champion 103.

I just put the NGK TR-55's in after it being recommended on here and I am very happy with them. It took me about 2 hours to get all my plugs changed. I didn't take any of the coils off and the 8th. plug I tackled from the bottom side of the car. It was much easier. Very happy with these plugs.
