So put my headers in.... my exhaust however.......

So after 6 hours with my gf and my friend at his shop my headers got put in. Sadly the x pipe needs to be bent about a inch to the right or left on either side to make it fit so as of this moment......

Made it from Cary to Raleigh open headers, car sounds bad as hell but the vibration on the inside at low rpms is awful and its loud as hell. Car is def faster. Install included new spark plugs and the headers, i had a bad plug as well. Hopefully this last till tomorrow and i can get the x pipe bent and hung up there on tuesday. Ill have to have the mufflers welded on later as im a tad low on funds.

I love red trans ams. but back on topic. I would stay away from driving it due to the various factors. Cops and problems mostly but it sounds good. Get that thing on the road and rape some mustangs

Passed 3 cops in NC none of them pulled me, drove it back and forth to work the last 2 days, no issues besides some scoffing and leering stares.... putting the x pipe in tomorrow though, so mustang rape it shall be, if they will even do it. I scared the piss out of one today.

Has exhaust on it now.....^ Just sayin. Anyone know a good place and or way to hang the x pipe so it doesnt move around a bunch under there besides taking it to a shop, well until i can get it there.

Congrats on the exhaust, get some exhaust clamps to hold it in place.

Linkie? Its 3 inch a good example and where to put them under the car would actually be more helpful then you think. Also in reverse it seems to rub up against the tranny im assuming getting it clamped down will fix this.

I would have to see the exhaust you have how is the x-pipe currently held on there? Exhaust clamps general just connect one section of pipe to another.

Its directly clamped to the headers via 2 bands (torque tites) i think is what they called them. Ill try and get a picture up of the underside of the car here soon.

Thats how it sits right now, the x pipe vibrates the further you go back, is there a way to mod the stock brace thats in the back to fit orrr a aftermarket one i can get?
