I thought that the LM1 was just a resonator, no muffler, and the LM2 is just a bullet muffler, is this true?

I actually like the LM rasp....I like my exhaust to sound nasty.

The loudmouth is louder, but to me the Magnaflow sounds better.

Flow...they are probably the same. Nothing you would notice.

Plus...if there was a problem, I don't trust SLP to back their products.

I have the SLP LM and the SLP LT headers and i must say it sounds amazing on my stock LS1. It is quiet yet aggressive at idle and when you press the gas it has a REALLL low rumble to it and the pitch peaks out at 4.5k rpms which is the only time it sounds raspyish. But it still sounds solid all the way through on my 01 ws6 trans am

This is which I have the best of both worlds. I used to have the LM1 and it was too loud, poppy, gross. So I traded it for a magnaflow CB and put an electric cutout in it. So just cruising around, it's mellow and nice. But if I feel like being obnoxious, I flip the switch and all hell is broken loose.

so i have the flowmaster american thunder cat back.....everyone says its sooo restrictive but i just dont totally beleive that. Honestly I think it sounds great,....very deep rumble and at wot its screams but isnt raspy at all. If I changed the cat back I would want that same deep sounds and wouldnt want it any quieter than it is now...Any suggestions....also is it really that restrictive anyon got numbers to prove this?? also is there a muffler than would just fin right in place of the flowmaster one where i can use the same pipes??

I would recommend that if you want to keep the Flowmaster sound (which I do agree sounds great) and not lose peformance...Go with a cutout.

Nothing flows better than a cutout,it's cheap and when you want to go back to enjoying the sound of the Flowmaster, just cap it up.

I think it's a "have your cake and eat it too" way of going about it!

It isn't so much restrictive...but that is doesn't flow with the other catback systems.
It is inbetween stock and the average catback.

I don't think the catback sounds good at all, but on td's their mufflers have a nice throaty sound. I'm addicted to magnaflow now, but I still like the sound of flowmaster's with td's.

My vote is for the LM1; I have it and love it!! It's definitely loud and has a throaty sound to it, but after a few weeks driving with it on there, I almost want to have it even louder LOL

With stock headers, both magnaflow & the LM will flow about the same (actually, pretty much any aftermarket catback you got would give the same amount of hp/tq increase). However, the LM will be more weight off of your car than the Magnaflow; the LM doesn't weigh much at all, especially with only having a resonator muffler. I personally love the sound of the LM1-especially since you're not going to add headers in the future! Basically, any aftermarket catback will give about the same performance..what it really boils down to is which one you like the look and sound of the most...

I loved my loudmouth before adding headers.

I regreted it as soon as I put the headers on.

Yep, that's basically the jest of it-LM1=resonator & LM2=bullet muffler.
