Blue- 2001 Formula
SLP header package.....good deal?
Hey, just looking for some input on this want to see what you guys think. i got a 2001 formula. I know right off the bat that the SLP long tube headers are a touchy subject, and that the decrease my gound clearance more than normal LT's cus there tuned, but i dont think i can pass up this deal. for $650 Shippped i can get
-SLP long tube headers
-Off road Y Pipe
- SLP install package, gaskets-bolts-clamps-02 sensor extensions etc
- SLP MAF
- 02 Sims
should i get it of go another direction?
just want some input see what you guys think of the deal, its all brand new, in the box never bolted up. i would never pay almost a grand for the SLP headers i think thats a ripoff in my opinion and that there claim of up to
"40 rwhp gain" is a bunch of crap. i think its a pretty damn good deal though for the price. i was looking at pacesetters and a ORY and that alone is like $700....

Blue- 2002 Z28 Camaro M6
That is a very good deal. Usually I think the SLP headers go for around 1000ish. I have heard some say that they do have clearance issues.
As for gains from exhaust my car with exhaust (Kooks LT and a custom True dual exhaust) with a SLP lid and Bellows along with a K&N air filter, and a dyno tune pulled 357.8 RWHP with my 02 Z28 M6. The first pull without a tune was 336.6. Not sure how much of it was from the headers and exhaust, but it defiantly made a difference.
If you don't want the deal pass it along to me. Sure I can make something off of it on Ebay

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
If your car is lowered....stay away from the SLP headers.
I had them when my car was at the stock ride height.
I am now dropped with Kooks headers.
I scraped the SLP's all the time, not once touched my Kooks since switching and dropping.
Even for a great price, I stay away from SLP anymore.2008 Trailblazer SS

SLP headers, i think not
yea i've had a change of mind. took me all of about 10min. to think about it and change my mind.
i think im gonna go with a set of pacesetters and TSP catted y pipe with magnaflow catback. i really like the kooks and QTP's but thats way outta my price range. the TSP website seems to have some really good deals..
i appreciate all the input....because i was leaning more towards the "no" anyways but at the same time i was unsure.
