All lids are pretty much the same, get the one that you like. The smooth bellows thingy isn't worth the price, just for looks IMO.

They Do Make a Difference
Lids do make some gains. They are tooted as the cheapest, easiest and give solid gains mod we can perform (check the forums and web sites). The smooth bellows is questionable but I figure why not finish off the travel to the TB & Maf with some unimpeded air. Went to the expense to straighten it out so why stir it again (just my farmer mentality/opinion). SLP sells their CAI packages and it includes the bellows. Not that SLP is the only "so called" expert out there and they certainly want to sell us but I feel it finishes off what I was hoping to achieve. Either way...get a Lid.

If you get a bellow just think of it as a appearance mod and you'll be happy with it...lid does offer good gain

Lid, yes. Bellows, eh...
A mag did a test w/ all lids a while back. SLP came out on top. The difference was minimal between them all, but SLP did squeak by. Def get the lid. It does make for an improvement. Bellows....why not? Finish it out. Look for used lids on ebay. You usually should be able to find something there.

I could have sworn it was the SLP lid. Now, I'm going searching for the article too.

I already have the SLP LMII, it sounds great. Looks like I'll be shopping for a MTI lid.

I've got the mti clear lid and I got mine dyno'ed a few weeks ago. stock was about 316rwhp with the lid+kn= 330rwhp. I did my research and found that mti was supposed to be the best too! I also pay close attention to gmhtp magazines. I take it they know what they're talking about. check into the volant intake too, because some say you get more of a gain from that than the lid set up. I plan to get one and see how I like it one of these days
