    shorties

    got a 98 formy.
some have said go LTs for more power.
    others say shorties.
then i heard someone say that they saw a list of the 10 worst things to do to an LS1 and shorties were on the list.
I plan to have the motor pushing 380-400 when im done.
    any advice is much appreciated!!!

p.s i know that bigger TB is a good thing but the intake manifold has to match the diameter of the TB right?? (i.e LS6 is 78mm and LSX makes one w/ a 90mm)

everyone i have talked to on here say shorties are a waste of money. THey dont give you anymore power really. I was told LT or mid-tube.

You have a 98 so shorties will give you better gains then on a 00+...but LT's are the way to go if emissions aren't a concern.

LTs w/ emissions fittings (egr and air systems)

any forseeable issues w/ inspection. (i live on long island, very strict regulations)

if you plan on making 380-400 then you'll need LTs for sure...help that baby breathe!

anyone know how much power can be made with bolt ons and stock 98 manifolds? seems like everyone says its pointless to use shorties and if thats true the money could be spent on something thats not pointless.

Say, I'm pretty new to this forum, but I put Kooks LT and cats on my LS6 ... suppose to be a gain of about 25-30 hp (not sure if that's with or without my new tune, though).
