remote electric water pump

Has anyone run a remote electric water pump on their ls1? BTW I have a ls1 in a 83 mustang coupe with a manual pump right now I just cant see 500 dollars for a electric pump.

It wasnt in an LS1, but a friend of mine have one. He had his stripped down so that the only belt was turning the alternator.

He really liked have an electric pump, paired with electric fans. When he was at the track he could kill the motor, pop the hood, and let the water keep circulating to cool off between runs

My car never see's the street's moding it for the remote pump would be no problem.

One of my friends runs an MGB in SCCA road racing. He runs a remote electric pump with no fan and has a 2 gallon tank inline to really up the cooling capacity... Yes its just a little 4 cylinder, but its worked up to max effort and for what it is, it runs a lot harder than our ls1s and never comes close to overheating

I think i'm going to try it. I can always sell it if it don't work, my car only runs for a few minutes at a time.
