    Questions About SLP lid,maf,and bellow

I already have the SLP lid, and just picked up an slp maf.

I need to get the adapter for the lid to maf since the dont overlap like the stock maf, where can i get this

I also am looking into the bellow and does this fit over maf exit or will i need some sort of an adapter for that also since the maf is 85mm instead of 75mm.

Im also looking to getting a big throttle body in the future how well does the bellow work with other throttle bodys or does everything get thrown out the window with a bigger TB

Anyway you could return that SLP MAF??
Your stock one is best for your current tune. The SLP one could lean you out too much, create detonation, and actually create issues.

Many of us make the mistake of ordering an aftermarket MAF. Hell, I did years ago.
Since learned, and try to pass it on to others.
Stock MAF is good for 500+ horsepower and is calibrated properly for our cars.

    Honestly....
SLP banks off the fact that they did the LT1 WS6, the LS1 SS, and the LS1 Firehawk. Many people new to modding their F-Body's know the SLP name from that and their relationship with GM. Hell, they got me when I started modding.

    Problems are...
    Their parts are overpriced.
    Their customer service is.....lacking.
    Their parts are old designs.
Their HP claims are not accurate.

Check out other vendors for better parts at better prices.

Cant we get a complimentary email from LS1.com when you join, telling you to not by a MAF. And in general just leave it alone? Or maybe everytime you log on it flash's on the screen for 10 seconds "Leave MAF alone".

    That would be nice.

I would never spend the amount of money SLP wants for thier smooth bellows. Can find the same product nearly at home depot. Im still on stock bellows with a 92mm intake and throttle body. It will fit, it just takes some convincing.

I agree with everyone else in this thread from first-hand experience. I am a not-so-proud owner of the MAF and Smooth Bellows from SLP. I also have the first iteration SLP lid. Nothing fits properly. I had to Jerry rig it to make it fit. Return it and spend the money on a date, you'll get more from that.
    It's on jackstands.

A pic would verify, but to give you a heads up,,,it'll look like the car has been through the plumbing section

In all seriousness though, I gave it a shot figuring,,,eh it's only $5,,,why not. But it didn't have the correct angle to reach up to the MAF from the throttle body, and it put things in a bind with no room to give. So mine wound up in the trash. Smooth bellow was the way to go for me. It fit fine with no trimming at all and had the correct angle for everything to fit properly. Cost more,,,but I prefer fit and function over a small savings. Up to you. Give it a shot.

Someone gave me the smooth bellow from SLP because he couldn't get it to fit.
I tried...and tried....and tried to make it fit. I trimmed, and trimmed, and trimmed some more. It just never fit right.

Fernco seems to do just fine for me now. Hit or miss I suppose.

Could be more popular (with bad SLP stories) than the stupid 'Train' thread in the AAG.
