    160's work fine if you tune for them and you also got to remember that the temp gauge in the car isn't 100 percent accurate.....

    Yeah I know....isnt that what I said? A lower tstat wont lower op temps....just opens up earlier ....

    Yup......I have a 160 in the GTO and a 180 in the TransAm LT-1....both still reach op temps same same......and I agree the hotter tstat will allow the rad/fans to do their job....I dont beleive there is any "advantage" either way really.....

    People will learn sooner or later... You should just run a restricter washer it'll do just bout the samething......All that 160 is doing is staying WFO.

    Your GTO sounds awsome...first person I heard of with that m any cubes...any stats on the engine or performance??? I'm putting a modified LS engine in a 94 Z...interested in what to xpect and what will work for mods these threads are really gr8 for ideas...thanx fo ryour answer on the stat

    We have had so many different setups
    W/transbrake we ran high 10's on MT's.....without the transbrake and with the 4L65E from FinishLine trannies in Chicago we ran low 11's....in 90+ degree weather and high humidity....she will skoot for sure....I'm not a big dyno queen type person....Allen and I tune her on the street....but I have had her on a dyno up in Dallas and she dropped 500+RWHP to the wheels....but 550+ RWTQ....all N/A
