Pulley help

Well guys after a 3.5 month world tour i am back. Problem is my pulley is squeeking a lot. It only does it when the car is cold, when it warms up it goes away in 10 min. I am on my 3rd or 4th belt in maybe 5 months time. My serpentine belt kept flying off when i replaced my water pump. Now its on the pulley dead center and not moving. Sounds like its comming from the tensioner. Will I be ok by spraying some WD40 on it? Where should i spray it eaxclty? On the belt, pulley? I just dont want the belt to keep slipping and come off in the middle of nowhere.

Well, for the belt coming off/walking off do it the right way the first time and buy a Katech Performance Solid Billet Belt Tensioner. I installed mine after I noticed my belt hanging on by 2 or 3 ribs. That thing performs great, looks great, and is reasonably priced. It is a great buy.

For your squeaking problem, you could try some "belt dressing". Parts stores has it. Spray on belt, pulleys etc. But if that isn't doing it for you, your spring loaded tensioner may be applying the wrong tension.

If you have replaced 5 belts in 2 months you are probably buying the wrong belt. There is no reason for a belt to fail that many times.
