Okay... I just bought the SLP air box and UMI SFCs. I am a little bewildered as to which throttle body to get. There is such a wide range of prices and I'm really not sure what to look for... can anyone recommend a brand?

Is it a "you get what you pay for" deal, where more expensive is (usually) better, or can a reliable and potent product be made for a small fraction of the average price?

I got my ported tb off eBay for.$50 after sending my core in. Also if you use is pulley get the set with the alt pulley by asp and also depending on the temps where you are a 180 stat may be a.better choice. In tx a.160 is.needed for 100 plus days but temps below 40 I loose my heatet, being from MA that isn't a problem for me but my x and friend from here get cold.easier.

Orion turned me on to S2 Performance for a really good throttle body.

For their satin finish S3 $125, polished S3 $ 160 both you need to give a core. I've had one now for the last 6 weeks and like it a lot. Not sure if there would be much difference between it and BBK.

After it got stuck i drove it once to make sure it was smooth and it was. i pout it up untill i ordered new shifter. I've been shopping around for a TB that doesn't require a core exchange. Anyone have any experience with this one?

Not sure if you're still looking into this, but forget the Hurst, narrow your research to Pro 5.0 and MGW, decide between those (google search reviews, t.o.s. has a bunch of people that did write-ups on them, and threads discussing them. You'll find a lot on the Pro5.0 here.)

My opinion, $20 more but I went with MGW. From that I could find, more users of both sticks preferred it.

I have the Hurst aftermarket Billet Shifter with positive solid stops and I haven't had one single issue with it since I owned it.

Iwent with the Volansunce a lid looks too stock and fit up nice against my aftermarket ws6 hood and helps feed in cool and soon as young all the restriction out.of the hood.

So, I can put a lid on (such as SLP) over the volant cold air intake? It will fit just as if stock?

lol i didnt mean over it literally. i meant that people usually get lids... not volant intakes. they say that they both make the same HP. i havent looked at prices on volant cold airs...but i know you can pick up a SLP lid for under $100
shop around and find what fits your budget/taste....thats what they told me.
these sponsor sites are great. and there are a few other good sites out there too.

Okay... so it is one or the other. What about cold air intake that breaths from the bottom? Is the horsepower gain cumulative with that gained from the lid?

You'd be better off putting money towards a used LS6 intake.
