    power steering delete

well my pump and power rack on my 2000 z28 is leaking. instead of repairing them i was just going to get the bmr kit that converts it to the manual rack. this will remove the pump and alot of weight.

    2 questions.

    1) how much weight?

    2) how much hp will it free up from deleting the PS.

anyone who has experience with this let me know you input. thanks.

I drove a friend's car that had removed the stuff, don't remember what he said he saved in weight, but that thing was a bitch to turn in low speed manuevers.

If you're not building a race car it's not worth. Weight savings and gains in HP will not be worth the sacrifice you make in driveablity. The thing will be a bitch to steer at low speeds.
