2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
The screen is on the MAF for a reason. I'd leave it in place.

Basically what you want to do is, remove the maf from the rubber accordian like tube that connects it to the throttle body and also from your air lid. Then you unplug the maf electrical connector. After you have done that either take your fingers or a screw driver and carefully push the screen, it is hard to start but once it starts it should come right off.

Don't waste time or effort on it.
If you decide to do so, you will need to get it tuned.

You may experience some slight hesitation but I didn't. Removing the screen does change the tables slightly but nothing to be worried about imho, people may bash you for removing your screen but it will not damage your maf or hurt your car in anyway. GM doesn't make cars with screens in their mafs anymore and another thing the screen is for straightening out airflow, no need to straighten out airflow when it is already straight. And no you don't need to have it tuned right away.
Another thing you could look at is a SD tune, then you could run a 4" or 100mm tube from your lid all the way to your tb. The only thing you have to do before the tune is relocate the IAT sensor to the front bumper. This is what I am going to do when I drive down to Frost's shop for my tune.Last edited by 98TransAmWs-6; 05-26-2011 at 09:26 AM.
