Ported and polished throttle body???
I am looking into buying a ported and polished throttle body. What exactly will this do for me in horsepower gain? Also it comes with the bump stop mod already done what does that mean?

porting widens out the tb a little bit. Ur hp will go up by like 5, not to much, but everything helps. Bump stop is a free mod.

NBM- '98 Ram Air Formula
Bump stop allows the tb butterfly to rotate/open to a complete 90 degrees. Look it up! There are plenty of how-tos regarding that free mod.

just get a dremel and some sandpaper and do it yourself... takes a little time and patience but itll save you anywhere from $70-100 bucks...

Bump stop mod how to w/ pics http://joshker99.home.comcast.net/tbmod.htm
Good article with some porting pics and instructions http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...modifications/
If you're pretty good with a dremel or die grinder, you can port your TB yourself and save some money. All porting really does is remove sharp edges and smooth the airflow path. If you're at all uncomfortable doing it, I'd send it out to be done. Usually a good port job will run around $100. Most people have an exchange program where they will ship a ported TB to you and you ship yours back after you change them out so you have no downtime. Usually, they do the bump stop mod too.

I had my stock TB ported and the bump stop mod performed by Vengeance Racing. For $125.00 they took it off of the car, did the porting and bump-stop mod and put it back on the car. I certainly feel like it was a worthwhile mod.

I had a guy named BoWhite on LS1Tech do it and he has dyno runs showing 5-8 at the wheel gains. Look him up, he did a great job.

one of our sponsers here offers that for cheap. its new era perforance.
it makes small HP but it really helps the TB responce more. the oinly bad thing is that our TBs are 72 mm and you can only port out to 75mm. ls1s can do bigger on stck form but then your spending 300-400 on a bbk or faast.

i heard good things about him too. no what s the difference between the s1,s2,s3 kits that he offers. you can only port an extra 3mm soo, anb his site doesnt say that much just list that he can do 3 of them.
bad thing about him is that you have to send in your and hell give you one of his. or if you want to wait a month you can get your orig back. i polished the out dide of mine soo i like mine back

I have the S2 and it's ported, bump stop and epoxy mod...I think the S3 is ported a little more and polished
Actually you can order a TB and he'll send you a ported one...and then you send him your old one using the packaging he sends you. You can also keep the one you have and just eat the core charge...or like you said you cans end him yours put there's a turn around time of a few weeks.

i know these aare just trottel bodies but i still would rather have one off a 30,000 mi car instead of a 100,000 car even thoe the spring just pulls back for movement. thats the only thing making so me go the other direction.
so yours is the S2, is it polished??
