I would just stay with the stock one. SLP sucks, and the stock one can support big hp numbers.

only time the maf should be swapped etc..is 1. doesn't work 2. going to SD 3. your pushing sooooo much air and so heavily modified where the maf is maxing out and its the largest restriction in your intake setup besides the tb blade obviously

Heard you don't gotta worry about the SLP giving you probs if you get it tuned in correctly.

Well unless you have your own tuning software,,,or you don't mind paying a tuner some time to dial in your MAF tables,,,,then I'd leave the stock one alone.
My wifes car has the stock MAF body but has ported ends installed,,,,it was a little finicky to get the MAF tables decent. Still not perfect,,,but for the intended purpose of the car,,,,quite honestly I'd rather have a stock MAF on it.
Nice thing about the ported ends,,,is if you don't like it,,,take them back off and install the stock ends. Unfortunately I don't have them,,,lol.

Yeah, cuz I know a few buddies with fbodies and they have SLP maf's, and none have had issues, and all have had them tuned in with HPtuners. I think if you just slap it on then you will have problems leaning out and throwing codes. I think that it's a bit larger and lighter, so it might help out a lil', if any.

The problem is, why would one pay for tuning just for a simple MAF upgrade when he is almost guranteed not to be pushing said MAF past its maximum frequency? They wouldnt. Wouldnt make sense when you talk about HP to dollar ratio.

Got a good friend who tunes. LOL. It was free. Anyways, i wouldn't throw in the SLP maf unless it's going it with a whole bunch of other mods. Alone I wouldn't pay to tune it in, but if you made the mistake of buying it already, it's gonna be hard as hell to sell, so you might as well throw it in, and if you throw it in, get it tuned with other mods.....not by itself.

Its not worth the money for the HP go lid and drop in filter its money better spent, theres always that one in a 100 times that your car will be the one that has problems. After a tune and buying the part your going to be putting down how much cash?

That's why people like you and I buy HPtuners and tune them ourselves,,,so we can mess around with little things like this,,,and not have to pay someone to do it.
