    Poly engine mounts

How hard is it to take the engine mounts out ?>

The local f-body guys say its a bitch and a half to do it unless you are doing a header install.

    Got any tricks?

It is something you do when you remove the engine. There are no shortcuts that I know of. The vibration increases, but the mounts are a good idea especially if you have more than 100k on your motor.

Yeah they are loose and rocking. You can feel them flex when you go WOT.

Probably need to do it now while the ypipe and tranny is out.

Mounts are laying in the middle of the shop. As well as my new torque arm bushing. Struts ,full balljoints, steering, lcas are next. Poor old car has too much HP and too many miles for the stock bushings.

I'm planning on poly motor and trans mounts with I get some headers. I don't think you can do the motor mounts with the Y & manifolds in place.

Yeah, thats what ive been told. My ypipe is comming off. Im gonna call the HP house in Bowling green to see how much it will rape me to have it done. Nobody around here will touch it unless its a header swap in the process. Im gonna see how it acts with a different brand tranny mount/ new flexplate/tranny/ujoints/new stall /new torque arm bushing. If its ok I will wait till tax time and throw some headers and true duals on it and say screw it. Work too damn much to do it myself plus I dont have a lift and its my DD !!

Good idea. I didn't order mine once I looked under the car to see how bad it would be to get at them. I decided to hold off until exhaust time.

My 9", torque arm, DSL and new brakes are sitting collecting dust too. I can't wait to get some time to get them in. I also need my cooling system flushed. I don't know if I should stick with dex or go green.

Dex and a flush keeps a fully stock 150k cooling system working fine I also put some of that royal purple magic coolant crap in friday ... it actually helps lol
