plenum gasket???

Whats up guys i checked out a 01 ws6 with 38k miles at a dealership, started it up and the service engine light came on. They said it was nothing serious and they would check it out if i was goign to buy it. They checked it out and they found a minor leak from the plenum gasket. How serious can this possible be to the engine? what else should i look at on the ws6 that has common problems. I really like the car and i wouldnt want to give it up for a minor leak

Welcome to the board. Since it wasn't flashing probably not something serious. Was it a GM dealership? Even if it wasn't don't understand why they wouldn't troubleshoot/fix it before trying to sell...not sure what they meant by "plenum gasket" either...probably something intake related? 38K isn't bad mileage - if you decide to purchase it have an independent garage/mechanic check it out for you.

Yea it is intake related. Its a chevy/mazda dealership. Their fixing everything though before i buy it. i just dont want to give this car up

Get them too tell you the code and then post the code and we will break it down for ya.
Thats low miles so you shouldnt have too many issues, just check for leaks, and odd sounds.
