Yeah guess you guys are right... lid is a lid...!

now my only question is do i need to buy the whole air induction kit/setup from the manufacturer if i already have a ram air or do i only need to buy the lid?

just the lid if you already have ram air. Some would argue the FTRA or SLP air induction pressurizes better than the ram air but that would void your WS6 attitude in my opinion.

    SLP lid.

But don't get caught up in their false HP claims for mods.
The only thing from SLP I would ever buy is their lid.

    Lid

I researched lids for about 3 weeks-Trust me SLP is the one you want-fits great.
I even found a big study done on all of the aftermarket lids available-technical data and all-SLP won the performance tests by a small margin-but they still won a reliable study/test.

The SLP is up there on fitment.

Although that large "SLP" logo on it bugged me. In no way do I want to advertise them on my car.
So I took care of that.

If you are referring to the GM High performance mag test of all the lids which was done a while back MTI won hands down. Best 1/4 and trap speeds. Although the SLP lid I believe showed more power on the dyno.

No the factory ram air lid is not going to be as good as the aftermarket lid. It's actually the same as the non ram air lid. It's just that the lower airbox has a bigger opening.

unless you are removing your AIR pump when installing your SLP Lid, you do not need this. the SLP Lid come with a little plastic elbow and tubing to connect back up to your AIR pump hose...

No Real Carbon Fiber lids, just that funky printed one.

You could always get one and paint it!

I'm like Luos, I don't have any love for SLP, but I had to buy their lid since it had the best fitment and the finish that seemed easy to work with. But that darn SLP logo was heat stamped into the plastic and took about an hour of sanding by hand to remove it.(But it was worth it!) I usually will not tell people I have a SLP lid, I just tell them its an aftermarket lid I customized.
