What is the power differnce between running and off road exhaust system and running one with Cats?

To me unless you really race at the track a lot it is not worth going without the cats. Just get some nice high flow cats and be legal. I once even had a DPS officer pull me over and ask why my car was so loud. He then stated that usually means the cats have been removed. He actually looked under the car and even tapped on the cats to see if they were hollowed out. He let me go but some do actually check for that stuff.

Yeah, around here, the cops are really starting to be dicks. Okay, so it's a little loud. Why don't they just focus on thise drivers who go around driving recklessly with their suped up cars? Just the other night, I had a cop pull me over, and started giving me the 3rd degree because my RKSport airlid didn't have any identifying marks to prove it was a legal lid (as opposed to "one of those illegal Japanese aftermarket lids" - for an LS1? Are you kidding me? I've never even heard of such a thing!).
I guess I really took the wind out of his sails when he asked me to pop open the hood. I guess the only reason he let me go because I don't have a blower, turbos, or NOS hoses all over my engine, and it did appear to be legal. That's okay! I'm going for an all NA-engine anyway. Oh, and surprise, surprise. It's coming towards the end of the month...ticket quotas anyone?

for the plate, just screw it into the platic part under the front (ya know, the part that brings air to the radiator). I got a ticket for no front plate, but since I've done this, no problems. Looks a LOT better than putting it in the actual license plate spot. If your tint job is actually illegal, I don't know what to tell ya, but if not, I'd fight it in court.

Yeah, I've been pulled over a couple of times while driving downtown at night; once for no plate. Lesson learned: I no longer drive down the main street in downtown at night.
