I currently have Pacesetters and want to ditch them for Kooks or QTP's. There not bad for a low priced header, but that's exactly what they are. I've installed 2 different gaskets and they still leak. I'm convinced that the header flanges are slightly bent.

I just can't see buying cheap headers you do get what you pay for. I've installed dozens of cheap painted headers over the years and they all rust and will rust through eventually. I'm going kooks and I don't care about the extra $$$ well worth it. I want headers I never have to worry about that fit they way they should. If you are going to keep your car a long time they are a solid investment IMO. Not to mention when you sell it kooks are much more attractive to an fbody enthusiast then pacesetters.

Ya I can understand that for sure. Playing with these cars are not cheap. And parts nowadays are much more expensive than when I was a kid.
I honestly don't know how these kids do it now while flipping burgers.

Yes, and this last time I even spent an hour and a half cleaning the mounting point and contact areas on the heads and headers and then I used 02 sensor safe gasket sealent on top of that torqued to spec and It's recently started leaking again. I'm tired of these headers.

how long did it take to put the headers on?

Mine is a DD and im going to be putting on some headers but i need to know how long my car will be out for. I have a lot of exp. with older 350's pre 73 but the room in the eng bay compared to the maro's and T/A is vast

your headers should come with gaskets but I recomend buying the oem metal gaskets instead of useing the aftermarket paper gaskets that come with the headers.
also you might need to do some cutting and adjusting to your pipes to get everything linedup right....nothing big just don't get frustrated if it all doesn't bolt right up.

pacesetters best bang for the buck. I would atleast pay like $100 more for the coated.
