Ok guys Serp Belt Help Needed, PLEASE READ,

Here is the deal guys, My mother lived in Las Vegas and has a noiseomming from one of the pulleys on her car, I myself do not own a camaro but joined this to help her out. the car is a 1994 camaro LT1..

She is trying to explain to me where the noise is comming from but without a daigram of the pulley/belt routing i can't help her out.

SHe took it to a shop and they told her it was the alt, they replaced it, and still making the noise,, They said well it was not the noise but your alt was bad...

Can somebody plese post a copy of the belt routing for a 1994 camaro LT1 motor, with the idlers and acc, labeled so that i can help her out. She is 50 now and people are trying to take advantage of her..

Thanks for the help in advance

There should be a diagram on the radiator shroud.

its most likely the idler pulley that seems to be common, I replaced the main serpentine belt, there is 2 belts. but its the idler pulley and it cost about $20 not expensive, it could be the tensioner aswell, but mine is the idler pulley, which i still have to replace lol.

It would help tremendously if you tried to depict the noise for us, as there are many areas in which squeals and rattles can come from. As mentioned, check the idler pulley, very common. If the engine is equipped with A/C, you might want to look into that area (the clutch) as well. Good luck....

Is it like a loud squealing noise? I had the same thing happen to my car. I jsut replaced the serpentine belt and problem solved! Haha that sound used to drive me nuts. It would come and go, it would mainly only be there when I started the car for the first time of the day. Then once I drove for like 5 minutes, the sound would dissapear.

Could be the tensioner, idler pulley or compressor clutch.
