oil sender

Just curious... can you change the oil sender w/o taking the manifold off. Of course i decided to do the fast setup.. drove it for a day with everything working fine.. then the next morning driving.. the check gauge light comes on and i see i have no oil pressure... god damn sensor!!!!! Just curious if you can do it w/o taking the manifold off, what holds it, and just outta curiosity, what would a shop charge to change it because if its cheap maybe ill just save me the trouble......

Never tried it with the manifold on - you can pick up a special socket for it when you get the sensor that should help, but it's a pain to reach. It just screws in.

I did the same thing Friday. Broke mine off installing new intake, got everything hooked up, cranked her up, NO OIL PRESSURE. Pulled the intake back off today, replaced and reinstalled, but was xtra careful. I just do not see how u can get to it with the intake on though. Heck I had mine back on in less than a hour. BTW, it takes a deepwell 1 1/16" or 27mm socket, preferibly 1/2" drive. HTH.

I'm not 100% sure on this but you might be able to get to it if you pull the driver side valve cover/ coil packs out of the way, but then you still have a rats nest from the air pump valve thing. When I had my valve covers off I could see it, but it's such a small space that it's just worth pulling the manifold again.

It happens to EVERYONE man lol! It sucks, but hey, at least you'll be nice and fast at it haha.

Look I weigh close to 300#s. And If I can crawl up in there with a thin walled sensor socket ( a regular socket will not work!!) and change the bitch out without removing anything. Then all you young skinny dudes ain't got no excuses. A NAPA Sensor Socket and a mirror on a stick and 15 minutes is all that is required. You don't have to remove anything!!! Just make sure the motors cold before you crawl in there!!!
